Description

Hey guys and girls
I was actually able to take another picture in 2021. After 3 months of bad weather, there was still an opportunity. Fortunately, I was able to give my recently purchased (used) Canon 200da the first starlight. It works very well and provides very good raw images.
But of course it didn’t stop with a smooth night. Whatever the reason, all settings in N.I.N.A had disappeared and so it took quite a long time to set everything up again. Only I couldn't get the autofocus to work So I had to focus manually with a Bathinov mask. Fortunately, the rest, platesolving, guiding, dithering and the recording sequence ran without problems. From 4 o'clock in the morning the clouds came back and the fun was over. It Despite the problems and the icy cold, I had fun again nibbling a few photons from the night sky.
This is the last picture for this year. As expected, the weather forecast looks very bad for the next few weeks. Hopefully next year will be better.
I wish you all a good start into the new year. Stay healthy!
Flo

IC 1848 is the somewhat smaller nebula in the east of Cassiopeia.
IC1848 contains extremely young star clusters, the O-stars of which stimulate the gas to glow. According to the theory of triggered star formation, the gas is compressed by the winds of the hot O-stars at the edge of these cavities, causing a chain of successive formation of new stars in the nebula. The star cluster is only about 1 million years old and the distance will be on
Estimated 6 - 7,000 LJ.
IC1848 was discovered by Edward E. Barnard, but the exact date is not known.
Several small open star clusters are embedded in this nebula: Cr 34, Cr 632 and Cr 634 in the head and IC 1848 in the body.
The small emission nebula IC 1871 can be found on the top left at the head of the soul nebula, other small emission nebulae such as
IC 669 and IC 670 are slightly below.
